Arrival & Dismissal

Arrival & Dismissal

Children should be dropped off in the “Drop Off Zone” only. This area can be identified by the orange cones on the sidewalk. Please pull as far up in the Drop Off Zone as possible before letting your child exit your vehicle. When exiting from the parking lot you may ONLY turn right.

To keep cars moving, please do not exit from your car in the Drop Off Zone. Allow staff members to open the door for your child. If you need to help your child out of the car, please park in a parking spot and walk your child up to the sidewalk using the designated crosswalk. No cell phone use is allowed while driving in the school parking lot. Please be courteous to other drivers and walkers.

When entering the parking lot, parents may either use the pick-up/drop-off lane (unless the line of waiting cars extends to the entrance) or locate parking. School personnel will assist drivers and children to ensure the safety of everyone.

TRANSPORTATION

Please contact Durham School Services at 847-543-9244 if there will be changes to your child’s transportation.

All routes have a designated start time. Once the route begins buses do not wait at each stop. Please have your child at your designated bus stop 5 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time. Keep in mind when the weather and road conditions are bad, it will affect the bus schedule.

During the winter months when heavy snowfall can sometimes block a bus stop, the driver can drop off or pick up at the nearest cleared driveway.

The following contact at Durham is available if you have questions or concerns regarding school transportation:
